Going back to Kosovo for the first time in five years

So, this Saturday, I’ll be on a flight to Skopje… from where I’ll then get picked up to get to Kosovo. I’m incredibly excited. I’ll fly there this week, stay until next week, then do more exams. Yay.

I haven’t been there in five years, so I genuinely can’t wait to go back and see my grandparents again or visit my granduncles… gruncles… Yeah… It’s gonna be exciting.

In the past five years, I haven’t really taken any vacations. I mean, my partner and I went to Salzburg at the end of March which was great but also not too far away and only a few days. Similarly, I’ve been to the UK for three or four days back in 2019, I believe, so that was cool.

But that was stuff I could do in Spring to Summer for a brief while when I had a few days of “vacation”. I can’t really get anywhere in Kosovo since I don’t have a car which is troublesome and my Albanian is sort of rusty, adding to the issues. I also don’t have a key for the house my parents built there, so, it’s only really viable in Summer when my parents are also there.

Add to that a mismatch in vacation times: I don’t really have vacation times. I’m writing my exams in Summer and in the past four years, I was only done with exams after my parents returned to Germany.

Long story short: It’s been a while.

There are worries that I have… but I may talk about them another time.

Today, I wanted to just mention this and I’ll be away for a whole week during which I won’t be able to write, I don’t think. Maybe I’ll get some posts scheduled but it’s already pretty much confirmed that I’m not gonna do 31 posts this month, given that I’m sitting at maybe four or five after two weeks, haha. So, yeah. Maybe I’ll schedule posts but probably not.

I’ll just try to have a nice time while also making some progress on The Will To Change, a book I haven’t continued to read in a while. I gotta make some progress through that. Also, flying is gonna be dreadful since I get severe anxiety in that box of death with wings.

Also, the heat is gonna be horrible. I may write about the worries later or in the next few days if I find the time.
