I originally didn’t want to do this again but… here we are. If you’ve read my blog for a while now, you may know that I used to “reset my sleep schedule” by pulling an all-nighter followed by me trying to fall asleep in the evening. It’s very unhealthy. Don’t do that. Anyhow, I couldn’t sleep until 3 AM today and when I got sleepy, I decided not to. Mostly, because I got an appointment in the morning that I can’t cancel and I know that I’d oversleep if I were to go to sleep at that point. Hence, I’m staying awake and I’ll go to sleep after the appointment. Again, not healthy… But it’s alright since I’m sleeping afterwards… Probably… Hopefully.
Edit: I fell asleep at some point and then overslept my appointment. Is this a self-fulfilling prophecy?
Coffee’s my friend on this journey – and I’ve also started to edit a video. I wanted to upload another video on Hardspace: Shipbreaker – but this time around I wanted to cut it together. Sadly, though, I noticed that my voice is incredibly quiet and the game audio wasn’t all that audible in comparison. I need to do a sound-check next time I record something. So, that’s quite annoying and it’s barely usable. After cranking up the volume in DaVinci Resolve, it just turned into a bit of an incredibly tedious task with bad audio. Annoying, innit? Hence, I may just scrap this recording altogether and possibly re-record something, then record the game and just explain it at the beginning that some story stuff happened.
Hardspace: Shipbreaker takes a solid while per shift (15 minutes) and depending on the ship you’re taking care of, it may take multiple shifts to complete. Hence, I wanted to do a Hardspace Super-Cut of sorts with me cutting out the boring bits and pieces and me just piecing together the more interesting points – if that makes sense. I’d love to see how that does in terms of improving my editing abilities. More than anything, I found the idea interesting and I’m just intrigued by it.
For now, though, editing this kinda makes me sleepy so I’ll spend some time, checking out another game and collecting screenshots for a review that I’ll have to inevitably write… but at the moment, I’m in a slump, so it will have to wait until I’m over that.
