Big Milestone!
It’s not exactly “bragging” but rather, I’m just incredibly happy to hit a milestone like that. 100k total views… Jeez.

I know that these numbers are dwarfed by some of the blogging veterans in the Blaugust community and I know that it doesn’t matter all that much how many views the blog as a whole gets but still… makes me kinda happy.
So, before I get into some statistics from the past four years, I wanted to quickly say: Thanks to everyone who reads this blog. It means a lot. I don’t earn money through this… in fact, I’m paying out of pocket to keep the site ad-free and to keep the fancy domain, so seeing that people actually read my articles and stuff makes me feel heard and valid. So, yeah, thanks a lot.
This blog started back in 2019, in July actually, right before Blaugust happened and for that half year, I ended up actually not writing all that much. In 2020, I had a few days with barely any posts and only in April of 2020, I started writing somewhat regularly with the following few months being spent on me finding my style of sorts.
At the end of 2020, I started blogging daily for 760 days and it was fun though I eventually had to stop due to burnout and real-life obligations.
While my blog managed to hit 1.5k views in total in the first six months (primarily due to Blaugust ’19), I started hitting that number monthly in 2021, resulting in an average of 1.9k monthly views, at times crossing over the 2k mark. Hitting 3k was sort of my goal and a key motivator for me in the next few months.
I was aware that views don’t really mean anything but it still made/makes me happy to see a passion project “doing well”, so I tried to do better, write longer posts and work on my editing and formatting more.
In the process, I got kinda close but never past 2.9K in 2022 before hitting 4.1K in August of ’22 and then regularly getting over that 3-4k mark in the months following said summer.
And well, I then stopped posting daily. I figured I’d take a huge dip but it seems like certain posts are still very much carrying the weight of the blog for better or for worse. I decided to take a step back and take breaks, often publishing only two or three posts per month this year.
Heck, even this Blaugust, I’m not really going for the 31 posts, at all, since I’ve got way too much to deal with IRL.
That said, I think all of that is good. It shows growth. I’m not here to stress over a hobby or burn myself out. Rather, I wanna have fun while expressing my thoughts on topics that I’m passionate about – and I’m glad that you’re in for the ride.
I believe that frequent breaks and a generally more relaxed attitude are definitely the way to go for blogging. Chasing after stats was never my goal but it does help with the motivation to improve and stuff.
At some point, though, I burned out due to the amount of pressure I added on top of myself for not being able to write reviews for games I was sent. I know that I didn’t necessarily agree to review those titles but still, I feel bad for the people that have coverage sheets to fill out and stuff.
But I’m over that and am actually having fun with the review-writing process at the moment. Now I just need to find a new apartment asap and then I’ll have nothing that stops me from writing about games I like or dislike. Yay.
Anyhow, my most popular posts are as follows:
- My Review on Bumble BFF, currently sitting at 7.4k,
- The Problem with MrBeast, currently sitting at 6.0k,
- My RoR2 Mercenary Ethereal post, currently sitting at 5.2k,
- My review on Girl by the Sea, currently sitting at 2.0k,
- and my post on the Dinkum controversy, currently sitting at 1.3k.
I’m glad that two of my reviews are in there but I hate that the RoR2 post is being looked up because people wanna get the achievement… but the post itself is no longer relevant because it’s based on a time trial no longer available, oops.
Also, I dislike that controversy is what gets people to my blog but… figures. I can’t imagine what actual big sites out there are amassing in views when they cover every controversy, no matter how small. Jeez.
Other statistics include:
- 16% of my readers read on Mondays
- Thomas (who may have stopped blogging) and Naithin published the most comments on my blog, after me of course
- Most of my traffic comes from the US (47.5k total views), followed by the UK (8.5k), Canada (5.4k), Germany (4k), and Australia (3.5k)
- Despite being an English-speaking blog, Germans are in the top 4 there, jeez.
- and perhaps most importantly, apparently, at least 147 people still use Yahoo Search… and they should get with the time.
Hope you enjoyed this quick little fluff post. Big milestone. Thanks for reading!
