WAROTA: I Live Next to the Demon King’s Castle LOL – Village-Building ARPG Enters Early Access

WAROTA: I Live Next To The Demon King’s Castle LOL, the village-building ARPG by the Lost Epic developers, Team EARTH WARS and publisher One or Eight INC., begins its quest to build a successful settlement in early access on Thursday, November 12th!

Reincarnated into the world of Luna, you are tasked by the world’s goddess to assume the mantle of the so-called Bounder, a powerful being gifted with the power of creation and tasked with the duty to rebuild what was once lost. Luna is a ruined world, currently ruined by the now-reigning demon lord… who is also your next-door neighbour, as you might have figured out from the LN-style title of the game!

Gather materials and build structures, furniture, and more to attract villagers who – in turn – will help you out with defending against the onslaught of monsters summoned by the Demon-King-turned-idol’s concerts.

Using the power of hats, you change from one class to another, ranging from farmers and woodcutters to warriors and mages, shifting roles on the fly and creating your own playstyle. Similarly, you can give hats to villagers as well to make them till the fields as farmers or have them stand guard against monsters as sentinels.

What’s more is that, spread across the world, you’re able to find Goddess Statues that bestow powerful blessings upon you when prayed at, granting you increased stats, strong elemental effects, and more, allowing you to stack unique effects to further shape your playstyle.

Personally, I’m very excited for this title due to its gameplay loop of looting and levelling, building up your village, and then defending against hordes of enemies. I’m really big on colony sims and city builders, so… “this game, it was made for me” (didn’t expect an Amigara Fault reference in 2026, did ya?)! It just seemed like a fun and interesting premise, and I’m excited to see how well the developers will execute it.

Beyond that, Team EARTH WARS’ previous title, the metroidvania-souls-like-hybrid Lost Epic, was also really well-known for its multi-faceted and, frankly, amazing voice cast, so I’m really looking forward to seeing similar amounts of effort put into this game’s casting. I mean, heck, they got Ryuota Suzuki and Nanako Mori for Lost Epic, which was wild to me.

Warota: I Live Next to The Demon King’s Castle LOL launches into Steam Early Access for $24.99, with a 10% launch discount until Nov. 20, 2026, including language support for Japanese, English, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese. The Early Access period is supposed to last until Winter 2027, during which the developers aim to polish the game over time using player feedback, while also adding more stories, more areas to explore, and a whole lot of new hats (job classes) for you to utilize!
