On July 15th, Bel announced that Blaugust 2021 is on the Horizon, and as always, here’s a post announcing that I’m participating. Check that post out if you wanna participate as well!
Cheers!
…Obviously, that’s not all there is to the post. Uh, what is Blaugust? Why do we do it? Why am I participating? Will there be anything different this year for me? I’ll answer all of those questions in this post!
So, Blaugust 2021 is a festival of blogging where bloggers band together to bring new life to the blogging community. The blogging community isn’t as big as it used to be for many reasons. Hence, this is the chance for us to share our torch with a new generation of bloggers and pass on the fire that keeps our blogroll rolling… or something. Either way, it’s basically a blogging event where people try to blog as much as possible, releasing as many posts as they want throughout August to earn a badge of sorts at the end of the month. And on top of that, there are a lot of veterans or mentors there to guide you in case you need help with anything.
I participated in Blaugust and Blapril these last few times ever since I started the blog, and I had a lot of fun. In one month, I even went ahead and wrote nearly two posts per day. For this month, I’ll probably stick to one post per day, as per usual. I think I’ve got a good streak going and I don’t want it to end because of burnout or whatever.

Either way, Blaugust consists of differently themed weeks and I’ll try to post at least one post per week dedicated to the theme and I’ll stick to everything else as per usual. I think that’s gonna be quite nice, especially with the Tales of Eorzea series on Sundays and maybe two reviews per week. I’m particularly looking forward to the Developer Appreciation Week and I plan on making another post or two on Streamers and YouTubers that I appreciate. I feel like that’s gonna be quite nice overall.
I’m also gonna keep streaming as per usual on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. I wonder if that counts as content to share during Blaugust? Even if it doesn’t, I’m essentially doing the streaming and blogging just like always and I’ll try to maybe motivate myself by posting more videos on YouTube. I mean, I haven’t uploaded anything in a while, mostly because whenever I tried recording stuff, it didn’t go well or I ran into technical difficulties and uh… Maybe I’ll motivate myself to create more videos during Blaugust! We’ll see! Either way, I’m quite excited to be a participant again this time around and I’m looking forward to getting another one of those badges and stuff.
So, overall, nothing’s gonna change really from the way we did it before. Also, I’m already posting daily so the YouTube Stuff may be my focus here and basically provide that extra challenge on top of the daily posts and the nearly daily streams. I hope that that works out for me. So, for anyone that’s been reading my stuff since this year: Everything’s the same. My goal here is to just test my limits and see how far I can go with my current streak and how much more I could potentially do with editing and YouTube and that sorta stuff to bring Indie Gems to people that wanna read about it.
Cheers!
