Three-Year Anniversary on Twitch: Special Announcement!

On November 19th of 2019, I started streaming for the very first time. It was a short stream of me playing Risk of Rain 1, I believe and… it was alright. I wasn’t super good and not exactly too chatty nor did I have any viewers… but it sort of started this hobby and I’m glad I’m doing it.

Anyway, as you may be able to tell, this upcoming Saturday is November 19th again… and I wanted to do something special…

RISE OF THE LICH!

Basically, another 24-hour-stream… but I’ll try and create a VTuber-Model… without any prior experience… from scratch! I’ll design, draw, and rig the model on stream, work out any issues… and hopefully, I’ll be done by the end of the 24 hours.

I’ve wanted to do this for ages… the Vtuber-Model-Creation-Thing, not the 24 hours… In fact, I didn’t plan on doing any 24-hour-streams for quite a while now but hey, here we are.

I figured that if I don’t do it now, I won’t do it until next year. At the moment, I can still keep up with my studies. Next week, I’m gone over the weekend. The weekdays are spent studying mostly. After next week, I’m not sure if I’d have the time to do anything like creating and rigging a model… and after that, there’s Christmas and New Year’s – aka holidays I’ll spend with my family. Then there are exams… then Uni starts again and I’ll be moving… and then I’ll have exams again basically.

It’s the perfect time for a challenge like this and I hope it goes well.

What is a VTuber Model anyway?

Well, as for that question:

A VTuber is “an online entertainer who uses a virtual avatar generated using computer graphics”. It’s like playing a role and having a whole character with lore and whatnot.

A tad hard to explain but in essence, I just wanna do that and it’s basically what I’ve been doing anyway… but now, I’ll hopefully do it using a model.

To create it, I’ll have to draw some concept art, think about the clothing and poses and whatnot… export it all as a specific format into Live 2D Cubism and there… I’ll have to actually learn how to rig everything. “Rigging” means that specific parts are supposed to move in specific ways… and I need to figure out how to attach things and make it so that they move within specific parameters and not beyond. It’s gonna be quite difficult.

Plans for the stream:

Naturally, that’s not the only thing we’re doing.

We’re also gonna look at past clips, do some game giveaways, chat a bunch, and play some games here and there in between chapters… It’s gonna be great! I’ll probably eat on stream, which is different… Pizza review? No clue!

Anyway, art, chats, clips, giveaways, some games, more art, lots of despair… and well, I guess it will be my debut as a proper “VTuber”. Looking forward to it!

So… all in all… come hang out, and let’s celebrate together. Take your time, I’ll be there all day! Literally.
