Twitter is breaking, but I’m not warming up to other places, really.

For a while now, I’ve still been using Twitter but I’ve been reducing my usage considerably.

It just feels like the whole site is breaking more and more. I see tweets by some people multiple times on my feed whereas I don’t see tweets by some people at all. I even get shown tweets by people I’ve blocked… and the amount of bots following me has increased a lot, which is just annoying.

Frankly, I wanna go for an alternative website but I’m not quite sure where to begin, really.

I wanted to get back into Tumblr and start using Mastodon a lot more but the main issue I have is that neither platform really “does it” for me. They’re very different, obviously, from what Twitter is/was.

Whereas Tumblr is primarily a blogging platform, Mastodon appears to be more of a community-focused platform where some admins may have an issue with you and do stuff that is really frustrating, from what I’ve heard.

I’m not quite sure if I can find a place in either, really.

I’m interested in art, for instance, as well as streaming, VTubers, etc. but when I follow those hashtags, I just get spammed with content that just doesn’t seem relevant to what I’m looking for particularly. Twitter seemed much better in that regard.

Maybe I’m just on the wrong instance or something and masto.ai isn’t for me, after all… but I’m not liking it all that much or rather, I just can’t seem to get used to it.

And well,… the rise of Tumblr seems like something inevitable but nobody I know appears to use the platform, so I’m not sure if I wanna actually do anything with it.

Frankly, I may just stick to Discord… on that note, my Discord server is a thing if you’re interested in joining yet another discord server… and you may even wanna add me on Discord and just chat if you’re interested, via the tag “MagiWasTaken#4357”.

And then there are other platforms for streamers or content creators but those appear to come and go and nothing really appears to stick around… or they don’t have an actual desktop client which is quite upsetting as it’s 2023 already… but hey, maybe I’ll find something.
