So, I’ve been thinking a lot and I think I wanna make some changes to this site.
For starters, I feel like there are too many categories, many of which aren’t actually all that relevant anymore since I don’t seem to write posts in those categories (looking at you, Anime-related category number 8!)…
But I also am thinking about whether or not the theme and colour palette are still fitting for what I wanna go for.
I also wanna create a new header that is much more “Indie” and less “Crypt/Necromancer”. Just cause the latter is my stream’s theme, that doesn’t mean that it has to ooze into the blog as well.
It just doesn’t mesh well, and it very much is like the manual in Demon Lord Reincarnation that the developers added as a retro-esque gimmick… But they didn’t add any of the cool stuff that was in retro games’ manuals.
In terms of the blog, that means the following: Why have that header here if that theme isn’t part of any of my posts or articles writing style or general aesthetic?
Side Note: St. Byleth does btw have a very cohesive style, just as a sidenote, and he more recently created a new blog where he wrote about drakengard!
Back to Indiecator, I also wanna write more about games.
Yes, I know, I said last year that while this is technically about games, Indiecator is still my personal blog where I can write about anything I want… And that still holds true. Heck this post is another rambly Stray Sheep, no?
But after going to Gamescom this year and meeting a person that sends me press releases quite often, I kinda had this urge to actually put them to use and write more announcement posts, like this one on Power Chord.
I wanna write about games that I’m excited about and the reasons as to why I’m excited about them.
I wanna publish more articles about Early Access game updates, demos and playtests. Interviews and discussions, and just generally more about Indie Game related topics.
And obviously reviews: I shared more this month than I did in the previous few… And that was exciting! I had fun with that and wanna keep up the trend without putting pressure onto myself.
Writing about Press Releases should also help with finding my style and improving the writing process overall. Maybe the reviews get better and faster, too, in the process?
…and also, the people that send them to me put so much effort into them, so I’ve been meaning to do this anyway, for quite some time now. Putting it out there like this should probably help in keeping me at it.
But I’ll still ramble and write about topics I find important. I just wanna put more effort into the long posts and in the meantime write more about cool indies and lovely dves, I guess.

i always worry about categories! which is probably why i haven’t changed my theme in forever, it has a nice layout of categories so it doesn’t feel overwhelming xD even the ones i don’t use as much… (looking at my music tag xD) tho i do always randomly have the urge to change it…
