Sony acquires Bungie! Let the Console Wars begin!

It hasn’t been too long since Microsoft acquired Activision-Blizzard-King and now Sony, Microsoft’s consol rival acquired Bungie. Personally, I didn’t expect this at all, especially as I thought that Destiny was doing pretty good… But, hey, here we are and I have no idea what this means for the future. Practically, there’s always the fear of console wars taking place with popular Blizzard-owned franchises moving to Xbox and PC only while popular Bungie-owned franchises could move to the Playstation-side of things. Halo’s IP is still owned by Microsoft, so I’d imagine that they could do exclusives in the future, which is pretty anti-consumer if it were to happen. But then again, I’m a PC-only bean.

What I don’t get about the console war is that nobody gets upset about Nintendo! Exclusives? Nintendo is the king of that. Nobody gets upset over Nintendo bringing games only to their consoles, after all, so why the fuck does it matter if Microsoft gets the rights to ABK? Not sure if they’ll be able to salvage any of that… And Sony acquiring Bungie? Who cares? Bungie is just going to buy themselves out of that again, for whatever reason. I don’t know why they do it but it’s a running joke at this point. And even if a new Bungie game were to come out exclusively to the Playstation 5, nobody would be able to complain about it because nobody owns that console yet, right?

I’m looking forward to the future in which Disney owns Nintendo, Microsoft, Google, Facebook, and Sony. I then want to see how Sega purchases them all… but before that, the world’s probably gonna end anyway, so we’ll luckily never get to see that day anyway.
