Hideki Kamiya is on some weird power trip right now.

I have yet to play the Bayonetta series but… I may hold off on that given how Hideki Kamiya is behaving right now.

For context, Bayonetta’s OG Voice Actress, Hellena Taylor, will not return to Bayonetta in the new game, apparently due to a plethora of factors. According to her, she was supposed to get paid only $4,000 USD for voicing the whole game, despite the franchise having apparently made an approximated $450 million dollars.

She reached out publicly, asking fans to boycott the game.

Voice Actors aren’t getting enough, as is, and officially Platinum Games made up some weird circumstances about this whole thing, apparently lying about the real reason behind it.

This post is about Hideki Kamiya who is on a weird power trip at the moment. “Sad and deplorable about the attitude of untruth”, he says, seemingly alluding to the story about Hellena Taylor…

But that’s not all… he’s on a blocking spree at the moment due a plethora of factors. He’s got a set of “rules” that he enforces by blocking people and calling them “insects”, effectively dehumanizing everyone on Twitter that he doesn’t like.

It’s honestly… odd.

I mean, I get it to a degree that if you don’t speak English, you probably don’t want to keep getting English messages. Furthermore, I can’t fathom what his notifications must look like at the moment, especially given the number of followers he has…

But I also think that it’s not that hard to just hit the “translate” button on tweets. I follow some people on Twitter that exclusively tweet in Japanese or other languages that I don’t speak – and the Translate option works wonders in actually conveying what tweets are saying.

And well, I’ll get blocked by Hideki Kamiya for writing about him… but that’s fine, probably.

I mean, I think it’s unacceptable to call people “insects”. It has strong implications that I don’t condone, hence this post.
