For the past few days, I’ve not been here and haven’t been writing.
Most posts released during those days were either written while I was on the train to my partner or while I was on the train back (in the case of yesterday’s post)… and it did wonders. I feel refreshed.
It’s not exactly a “break” from blogging but preparing a bunch of posts out of “necessity” was good for me as I got to fill up on creative juices and stuff. Sort of?
I was gone for a few days and didn’t spend those days contemplating what to write. I got to do stuff with my partner and with this post, I sort of just wanted to give a little update on how I feel about blogging daily.
The TLDR here is: “Optimistic”
It felt good to stock up on posts and not write daily – and when I had the urge to write a post or when I really wanted to get some posts made, I was able to still do it without any added pressure of having to get the post out in time.
That means I have a few drafts that are technically finished that I haven’t scheduled or published at all. In theory, I could get those posts out in the next few days if I can’t come up with anything else.
More importantly, though, I found the one review I had out on Friday to have been a good refresher in terms of writing reviews. I mentioned it in my post over here already but I needed to think back at how I used to write posts and try that out again.
So, Word Vomit. Take a break. Edit. Publish.
I did that and it felt good. I’ve just been overthinking things as of late and that added pressure and added pressure meant fewer reviews and fewer reviews meant more pressure being added and that’s not good.
But I enjoy writing reviews still – and trying to “return to the roots” confirmed that again. It’s not the review process that was flawed but rather my approach to it. Does that make sense?
Anyhow, from now on, I may do a mix of daily blogging and scheduled posts. On the weekend, I could get posts prepared for the next few days. I think weekly reviews may be possible. I think that’s probably fine, right?
So, just some quick thoughts and I’m looking forward to writing more posts once I’ve got a bit more time to do so.
