#JustOnePercent (An End-Of-Year-Update)

So, quite some time ago, Krikket organized this project called #JustOnePercent. Here’s her post and here’s my post!

The idea is that there are a lot of Indie Games coming out each year and Jeff Vogel said that people should try to play just one percent (~100) of the games released each year, so that they can (I don’t have the direct quote) “suffer in despair” or something like that because it’s just too many games.

This sparked the idea of actually playing and writing about 100 games. I have already played more than 100 different Indie Games… but I didn’t write about them quite yet.

Over the course of these last few months, I haven’t really updated the list. The list of games found here is now updated though!

Currently, we’re sitting at a total of 83 First Impressions/Review type posts. In some cases, I’ve got both reviews and first impressions listed… in others, I only did share my first impressions due to a lack of time.

Technically, there are also the interviews from the GamesCom, though – which include some thoughts on the games’ demos that I played at the GamesCom… so… we’re sitting at roughly 9X games, I reckon?

Anyway, in theory, according to my own rules, I’d have to published 17 more Reviews or First Impressions in the next month to beat this challenge. That should technically be doable. There is a review scheduled for the 1st of December, already, due to embargoes, however, I can’t talk about what game it is… At the same time, there are some games that I got keys for and that I haven’t finished the drafts for quite yet that I’d like to play before the end of the year. Hopefully, I’ll have enough time.

I’m a petty fuck, so I’ll most likely @ Jeff Vogel on Twitter at the end of it just to say “One Percent, eh?” with some Eyes-Emoji or something attached to it. Maybe he’ll respond with a slow-clap gif… if gifs are still supported on Twitter by then. Maybe Twitter will be gone by that point, though. Who knows?

Anyway, 17 reviews/FIs in a bit more than a month should be doable… it will be a challenge, though, but in the end, I have to prepare a lot of posts anyway for the time between the 23rd of December and the 9th of January given that I’m visiting my parents in that time.

Actually, I may bring my laptop with me or something for that time to deal with some posts and mails and whatnot but it’s gonna be a blogging-free time hopefully… I wanna spend some time with my family while my father is still alive and kicking… and also I’ll have to study a bunch.
