tinyBuild Games announced their latest title DUCKSIDE!

This one isn’t an April Fools Joke. At least, I don’t think it is. There’s even a Steam page for DUCKSIDE, so I’m pretty sure it’s real, right? They wouldn’t just send me a press release as a joke, right? Right?

Anyhow, tinyBuild just announced their newly released game, DUCKSIDE, and there’s a cool trailer to boot, too!

DUCKSIDE is what happens when DayZ and Rust meet but with a fowl twist. This game places players in the webbed feet of a combat-ready duck in a persistent world.

You can play it solo or with an up to 50 duck big flock on servers. You “utilize deep and intuitive base building, crafting and upgrade systems” to progress through the game.

So far so good, right? But ducks can fly and as such, you’ll be able to honk from above and use advanced flight mechanics that allow the player to glide, hover, accelerate and dive, even in combat. This probably is gonna help with exploring the huge. vibrant open world, too, which sounds really rad.

Honestly, I love the idea of PVP and PVE in a world like that where silly birds wearing silly hats destroy nature to make a mark for themselves and survive together in the apocalypse.

Something I find very important in games like this is the base-building aspect and how much creative freedom it allows you. Palworld really is a letdown in that department, so perhaps DUCKSIDE is just what I need.

The trailer that existed so far on DUCKSIDE’s Steam Page only really explained the most basic of basics, including crafting, flying, resource gathering and building. It looked good so far but it wasn’t revealed yet what kind of “threats” you need to protect yourself again.

The trailer stated that you can craft a bow to become not just a duck… but a duck with a bow… and it’s genius.

Clearly, nothing beats a duck with a bow except a duck with a crossbow or a machine gun or tactical nu- Okay, I’m not sure whether those are in the game but based on trailers and footage, it looks like there will be a vast array of funny hats, body armour and weapons to craft, structures to build, and a big map to explore, so I’m looking forward to seeing whether or not this is an actual game that is releasing because I’m still not quite sure yet.

Either way, you can wishlist the game on Steam right now if you haven’t yet. Honk.
