It’s been nearly half a year and I’ve done plenty of things now. For starters, I kept the streak going for 136 days in a row (including today) and I created a YouTube channel. Yup, that’s what this post is about.
So, it’s been a while but I essentially made this new year’s post about goals and plans I have for the year and figured it’d be a nice idea to start with one of them… YouTube!
For starters, I plan on doing more Video Interviews with developers and basically have their voice recordings available on YouTube, similar to what we did yesterday. Figured it’d be nice to actually see or rather hear that the developers are actually human. My interview with Forrest Dowling, for starters, was a written interview and I could have very much just made that up… but I didn’t and if you demand proof, I’ll show you e-mails. Either way, I like the video interviews more and having a few questions instead of all questions in the blog post. Yandere Dev on the other hand only wanted to do a written interview and I respected that but essentially I’m not entirely sure how to feel about that post. Either way, the interview that we did yesterday was quite cool and while it isn’t the newest thing as I recorded it in March, it’s certainly cool that it’s up now and that I can just embed it like that and all of that. Effectively, interviews are cool and I want to do more of them with different people in the future.
Apart from that, I also did upload a compilation of a Twitch VOD on that channel but editing takes a lot of time, so I’m not entirely sure how frequently I wanna make stuff like that… but you can check that out…
More importantly, I was thinking about doing more First Impressions posts and having my actual first impressions in a video format on that channel and I could embed that in there, too… Figured that’d be cool. I already uploaded one video like that today on Nova Drift, an action-roguelike set in space that is quite cool, and I plan on trying out all kinds of games over the next few months and maybe uploading them here and there to that channel whenever I find the time. I don’t exactly have got the hang of it just yet but I’d like to think that it’s a Work In Progress type of deal with me slowly getting better and improving my editing skills, while also keeping at blogging and streaming to improve my entertainment skills… I’m not sure yet if my streams actually are entertaining, to be honest, but people seem to enjoy them and like to hang out and chat, so that’s a nice thing, I guess. I doubt that reviews on YT will be a topic for me anytime soon as my voice-over skills aren’t the best just yet and since getting footage of games and then editing it all together can take a rather long time… I respect channels that do them, don’t get me wrong, I just prefer written reviews more and would like to stick to those.
But having the video there on top of the review itself could be nice to give people further insights into the first half-hour or so of the game. Any thoughts and suggestions? Oh, and if you want to, I’d love it if you could check the channel out. Again, the link is over here and I’ll have to find the social media page on my blog again and add that to it. Yay! Hope you enjoyed this quick little update! I should have a review up soon as well on the blog, so look forward to that.
Cheers!
