As mentioned yesterday, I got sick. I caught a cold. It sucks. My nose is stuffed up and I effectively turned into a mouth breather as I can’t breathe through the nose… Becoming a mouth breather is a fate I wouldn’t want anyone else to suffer. It’s a horrible fate that you wouldn’t wish upon your worst enemy. Thus, I present to you possibly one of the most effective remedies I know for colds… it not only frees up your nose but also calms down that violent cough I’m suffering from.

I present to you: Onion-Lemon-Juice with Honey.
This thing right here doesn’t only look gross but it also works! And it tastes great… and it gives you enough of a stinky breath that nobody will get close to you, hence stopping others from catching your cold. It’s frankly amazing.
I don’t know who came up with it but I’m pretty sure it’s a recipe for disaster that was passed down for generations which eventually lead to my mom telling me about it and me making it for the first time last year… and I did it again this time around.
You basically bring water to a boil and then add one onion cut into pieces to it… I added one and a half because I still had half an onion left here and I wanted to use it up but then I still didn’t have enough, so I went full-house. Then I cut up half a lemon into slices and added it to the broth. As it was cooking, I added a whole lot of honey to the mix… and eventually, I added some fresh ginger because it tastes good and it is probably quite healthy. Either way, drinking it while hot works quite well but once it’s cooled down, I just put it into the fridge and drink a cup or two a few times per day.
That aside, I won’t be able to stream for a few days until I’m healthy again… which is a bummer… but it can’t be helped. I gotta rest up and save my voice. More importantly, though, I got an exam in person next week and wanna be healthy until then as I can’t participate if I cough loudly and violently non-stop.

My aunt makes something similar but I think she uses garlic instead of onion. Feel better.

And well, you can add anything into it but like lemon helps a lot for some reason and I sometimes add garlic to it, too, for the taste and because garlic is pretty healthy, too.
